THE IMPERIAL ICE STARS enjoyed phenomenal success with their first international tour in 2005 of The Sleeping Beauty on Ice, a thrilling production that amazed audiences in 10 countries and played to over 5,000,000 people worldwide in prestigious venues such as London's Sadler's Wells, the Amsterdam Opera House and the Artscape Opera House in Cape Town. Audiences and critics were united in their praise, with the show receiving nightly standing ovations. SWAN LAKE ON ICE comes to South Africa directly from sold-out seasons in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, as part of an 80-week world tour that includes performances in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Germany, the Netherlands and the United States. OLGA SHARUTENKO, star of the recent television spectacular, "Dancing on Ice", plays the role of Odette, leading a 25-strong cast of Olympic, World, European and National Championship skaters, who between them, have won over 200 competition medals.

The timeless story of SWAN LAKE, performed to TCHAIKOVSKY's glorious music, tells the tale of Prince Siegfried's love for Odette, a woman transformed into a swan by an evil curse. Odette is destined to remain a strange, composite create until rescued by a man's undying love. Only the evil Rothbart and his daughter, the black swan Odile, stand in the way of her release from the curse.

The world's leading ice director and choreographer, TONY MERCER, has assembled a first class creative team that includes double Olympic figure skating Gold Medalist EVGENI PLATOV and quadruple Olympic Gold Medalist, ALEXEI NEMOV. Together they have created an unrivalled show incorporating all the intricate and thrilling moves seen at the Winter Olympics as well as feats never before seen in figure skating.
The sumptuous sets have been designed by leading Australian designer EAMON D'ARCY, designer of the Opening Ceremony at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Over 110 richly decorative costumes have been created specially by ALBENA GALUBEVA of Moscow's famed Stanislavsky Theatre.
